Jessica Hayes Nunez has a BA in Theatre Arts from California State University Long Beach, and is a current student of The Second City, Hollywood. Jessica has been teaching and performing all over Southern California for over fifteen years. Her love of the stage began with choral music, and later evolved into musical theater, leading to a deep understanding of the vocal arts as a soloist as well as an ensemble member. She is currently an actor and manager for The Imagination Machine, where she brings students' creative writing to life on stage through acting, improvisation, and music. She is also a swing for every character in Buena Park's newest dinner theater 'Teatro Martini.' At Christmas time, you might catch her in a hoop skirt singing carols for LA's 'Definitely Dickens,' and throughout the year sings as a soprano for the OC a capella group 'Frequency.' Furthermore, she has taught acting, voice, movement, and improvisation to hundreds of children throughout Long Beach and Orange County. Some past teaching endeavors include Whaley Park Music and Arts Day Camp, Kindsingers of Santa Ana, the Long Beach Playhouse, and of course Take the Stage. Jessica is also a certified yoga instructor, and is building a new curriculum--- 'Yoga for Performers.'
Samuel Forbes is very excited to be joining Take the Stage Long Beach, and assisting during class meetings that focus on Improv! Improvisation has always been a large passion and presence in his life. Growing up and first discovering acting, his favorite actors were the ones that were clearly making choices in direct response to their scene partners. Listening, speaking your truth, and making it about each other are tenets of improv, but also of life. He's grateful to share and teach the art form that's given him so much.
